Brentwood
St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church

The Brentwood parish sits behind a courtyard garden that makes the whole street feel quieter. The arches and the stone give it an old-world weight, and the light through the windows turns everything gold for about twenty minutes each evening.
We went at 6pm on a weekday, which is the move — the church was nearly empty, candles lit, someone practicing on the organ. We stayed longer than we planned.
